Wilderness travel can be unpredictable.

Never is this more true then when backpacking in snow. Conditions can vary dramatically depending on the season, terrain and/or recent weather patterns.

When venturing into snowy areas a hiker needs to be on their “A Game.” The margin for error is often less than it would be in other types of environments.
